Malema's millions

This report in The Star newspaper claims Malema owns a R3,6m house in Sandown and a R1m mansion in Polokwane, both of which he paid cash.
You do the maths ...
  • Two houses: R4,6m
  • Cars: R1,2m plus plus plus
  • Breitling watch: R250 000
  • Monthly salary: R20 000
Julius Malema, the ANC Youth League president, owns two multimillion-rand homes - both of which he bought for cash.

This disclosure, which adds to questions surrounding how the youth league president affords his lavish lifestyle, comes just a day after Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan announced that targeted lifestyle audits would be conducted this year.

The Star has discovered that Malema bought his three-bedroom home in Sandown for R3,6-million in December last year.

And, according to the Deeds Office, he owns two houses. The other is a mansion he bought in Polokwane in 2007 for R1m.

The house in Sandown is in Silvela Road and the Deeds Office indicates that he bought it for R36m. But according to the previous owner, the house was sold for R3,6m.

The Sandown house has been described as luxurious, with three bedrooms, an office, a TV room, a lounge, a pool and a large garden.

It is the same house in which Malema held a controversial house-warming party in September last year.

A police reservist said at the time that he was assaulted by the youth league leader. Neighbours complained about the noise and mess that Malema's party had caused. It was a sophisticated bash. YFM DJ Oskido provided the music, and guests were treated to R700-a-bottle Johnnie Walker Gold Label whisky and Moët et Chandon French Champagne.

When asked how he could afford to buy a R3.6m house cash, Malema reacted angrily.

"You and your husband and your family - that's who you need to write about. You go away, just go away," he said before slamming down the phone.

ANC Youth League spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said The Star was being nonsensical. "I think you need to rethink what you are doing. What business is this of yours? How dare you call me and ask for comment on this?"

It's not the first time questions surrounding the scale of Malema's lifestyle have emerged.

Sources in the youth league have said he earns R20 000 a month.

At the same time that the transfer of the Sandown house went through, Malema attended a press conference in a Gucci suit, and sported a Breitling watch worth about R250 000.

The 28-year-old politician owns a black Mercedes-Benz AMG, which retails at R734 000, and reportedly drives an Aston Martin and a red Range Rover Sport, too. Last night he went to a lecture at Wits University in a brand-new white Range Rover - with no number plates - which sells for R1,2m.

Malema is the director of four companies: 101 Junjus Trading CC, Blue Nightingale Trading 61, Ever Roaring Investment and SGL Engineering Projects.

DA youth league leader Khume Ramulifho said he had heard that Malema earned a lot more than the R20 000 he claims.

"It is said that he earns as much as a minister, and that is why he will not go to Parliament or take up any other office," said Ramulifho, who owns one car - an Audi A4 - and a house in Riverlea.

The voices of the two black males charged with the torture-murders of Stilbaai Afrikaner shopkeepers Jan and Elizabeth-Ann Smith were accidentially recorded by a video-camera which was unknowingly switched on by the murderers during the attack. The Cape Town court was played some clips yesterday as evidence against suspects Eric Vakela, 33 and Mahlomhlo Mosito, 38. They deny two charges of murder, housebreaking, armed robbery and rape. The deeply religious Afrikaner couple had moved to Stilbaai from Ohrigstad in Mpumalanga to start the little shop ‘because it was safer there’.

According to the court-records, the suspects had removed a video-camera from its bag so that they can pack stolen items into the pack. As they took out the camera, they switched it on and a video-recording was made on Wednesday 13 October 2010 at 01:26 when the couple were attacked.
Parts of the discussion between the two men went as follows:
Mosito: “Money…”
Vakele: “Yes.”
Mosito: “Take the money. The police will come. They have a shop. You must know that we share. We tied up the woman.”
Vakele: “I agree.”
Mosito: “The coins are going to make us suspect. The woman looked at me damn it”.
Vakele: “The woman even said to you; ‘I am sorry’. We killed them.”
Mosito: “What? It’s not us who killed them. They have the money as if they own a shop”.

An Afrikaner couple, Jan and Elizabeth Smit, were found tortured to death – the wife was impaled on a garden fork – on their farm near Jongensfontein outside the retirement town of Stilbaai in the Southern Cape.
A family friend found the bodies of 62-year-old Jan Smit and his 57-year-old wife Elizabeth on Thursday. The traumatised friend spotted the woman’s body impaled on a garden fork when she peered through their lounge window. Police spokespman Malcom Pojie said both bodies also were “heavily bruised and bound with rope”. A man has been questioned.
“As the investigation unfolded, they took a man in for questioning late last night. He is from Riversdale and is currently being question by the organised crime investigation unit,” he added. Autopsies are set to be carried out on the couple to determine the exact cause of death: this might take a while: there is a severe shortage of forensic-experts in SA.
The couple used to own a coffee shop in Stilbaai and had moved to the ‘peaceful area’ from Lydenburg in Mpumalanga a number of years ago. Dominee Willie Gouws of the NG congregation in Stilbaai said he had known the man and woman well.
“They weren’t registered members of the NG Church but they were very religious people.” Another Stilbaai resident, Philip Claasen, said the people of the town were shocked. “It is totally unheard-of in Stilbaai. And totally unacceptable. Keep in mind that 60% of the residents of Stilbaai are older than 60. It is a retirement town and the residents here are very exposed.”There has definitely been an increase in crime recently. There are several elderly residents who live on smallholdings here,” said Claassen. He described the deceased as good, friendly people.

Boer Genocide: then and now
Rozanne Meyer writes that many hundreds of Afrikaners made emotional tributes on Sunday October 10 2010 to the many tens-of-thousands of their forebears who died for their freedom and for justice 111 years ago. The organisation was arranged by Solidarity Helping Hand ‘s charity organisation and the Heritage Foundation of Centurion.
Afrikaner Starving Sarie Rossouw Solidarity Report To Zuma Aug 2010Afrikaner starving, Sarie Rossouw: Solidarity Report To Zuma - Aug 2010
“In 1902, some 23,000 Boer children and 4,000 Boer women had lost their lives during the British government’s scorched-earth campaign against the independent Boer nation – dying miserable deaths in the inhuman Boer concentration camps which the British had erected across southern Africa after burning down their farms and marching off the women and children at gunpoint… At the outset of the Second Freedom War against the British in 1899, the total Boer-population was about 322,000. Nearly one out of every 10 Afrikaners died in these British tented hellcamps within just a few months.
Rozanne Meyer writes: “Now we are faced with the same horror once again: there are more than 800,000 unemployed, homeless Afrikaners living in dismal squatter camps and slowly starving to death because they are denied all access to the job-market and even denied food-aid from the ANC-regime; nearly 4,000 Afrikaner farmers have been murdered – and more than 30,000 Afrikaner-whites have died in violence in the cities in the ‘New South Africa’ under the ANC-regime. There are 3-million Afrikaners today. Per capita of the entire population, Afrikaner whites are being murdered more than any other population group in the country.

He said acting the role of Dirk, the sheepfarmer, in movie producer Karl Marx’s latest Afrikaans film, Susanna van Biljon, leef jou droom. made him realise ‘that farmers are cultured and stylish.”

Referring to the huge number of Afrikaner farmers being murdered on their homesteads under the ANC-regime, he could not understand ‘why the government does not look after its farmers better. They are supposed to take care of all South Africans,’ he said. “Farmers often themselves were raised on farms and they have a close affinity and knowledge of the production- and marketing side of the business. The government should create a cooperative with farmers because it will be to everybody’s advantage,’ he said.
David says the movie was filmed on various farms in the Uniondale region – but he himself also was raised on a smallholding in the Honeydew/Muldersdrift region, and his dad planted maize and had some cattle. “I had to help hold the animals during slaughter, and so he developed a natural knack which he was able to apply in his role, he said.
He had a message for those farmers who feel hopeless and powerless in their present dire situation: “I have as an actor always remembered my dreams, and many people dream of owning a farm and to farm. It’s a great privilege.’

Pathologist said he was stabbed 10 times with two different weapons.

POTCHEFSTROOM. Oct 21 2011
The two murder suspects Kagiso Solly Tiba (24) and Letlhogoholo Edward Moretlwe (25) who were arrested within four days of the gruesome murder of O’Hagan restaurant manager Pietz Bezuidenhout on Saturday 8 October 2011, were denied R500 bail because of the ferocity of the murder. Investigating officer SAPS warrant officer Bonita Dry testified against the bail application: pointing out that two different knives were used to kill Bezuidenhout that Saturday after he was ambushed at 4:15am in front of his home two blocks away from the restaurant. The Potchefstroom Herald noted that ‘the suspects qualified for four out of the five basic requirements under which the court can deny bail.’ Usually only one requirement is needed under which bail can be denied.

Two different knives were used: smaller one used to stab him down from behind: larger knife slashed into him as he lay on the sidewalk, defenceless, with one attacker standing on the victim
SAPS warrant officer Bonita Dry (photo below) testified against the bail application. She said that two different knives were used to kill Bezuidenhout that Saturday after he was ambushed at 4:15am in front of his home two blocks away from the restaurant. He had walked home after closing up for the night. According to the allegations in the court, the two suspects approached Mr Bezuidenhout and asked for a lighter for their cigarette. He was still explaining that he didn’t have one when they attacked him, and searched his pockets. The suspects then allegedly fled with Mr Bezuidenhout’s cellphone and R450 in cash. W/o Dry testified that it was clear that Bezuidenhout was stabbed with a small knife in the back, and with a larger knife in the front of his body as he was helpless on the sidewalk.
He was not given a chance to defend himself
“There were no signs on his arms that he was even given the chance to defend himself,’ she testified. During the post-mortem examination on 10 October, it was also determined that Mr Bezuidenhout’s right shoulder bone was cut right through. The pathologist also confirmed that two different knives were used.
Testified the police-officer “It’s one thing to rob someone, stab once with a knife, steal and then run away. It’s an entirely different matter, a brutal incident, to stab that person ten times with two different knives.’ The two suspects allegedly had ‘submitted inaccurate statements’ to try and get bail, the newspaper noted, but ‘warrant-officer Dry’s testimony was sufficient to convince the court that both suspects are too dangerous and violent to be returned back into the community. Neither had a permanent address nor permanent jobs. “Both suspects had a strong case pending against them, and the chance that they would flee is a large one,’ she testified.
“Mr Bezuidenhout was killed for a cellphone and a mere R450. The community is angry, shocked.’ She did not want to express an opinion about the ‘safety of the suspects if they were released back into the community,’ she said. “One victim’s sister refuses to let him back into her house. And the other suspect’s mother also said in a sworn statement that she would not want him back inside her house under any circumstances.’
The detectives also want them in custody while they investigate other cases and whether they could have been involved. “Both suspects also have previous convictions and pending cases.” The magistraté postponed the trial to November 11 2011 pending further investigations, the court ruled.
Afterwards a friend of Mr Bezuidenhout, Richard Waring, expressed satisfaction about the fact that the suspects will remain in custody. “I am just happy that justice is being done by these men being denied bail,’ he said. Mr Bezuidenhout’s sister Annari Müller, was not available for comment by the time the newspaper was put to bed.

Shoot the White People’ – they now sing

Gregory Stanton of GenocideWatch.org is correct: the whites are in great danger of genocide
’Al Jazeerah columnist David Africa noted recently: “The ANC, once a bastion of non-racism, descends into racial politics: Malema targets Boers; Jimmy Manyi targets Coloureds… ” Africa is an independent security analyst based in South Africa. He has previously worked in counter-terrorism intelligence and research, and served in the underground of the then-banned African National Congress in South Africa.”
‘Shoot the White People’ – they now sing
On Friday-evening October 14 2011 at the University of Witwatersrand, a  black student representative council member sang ‘Shoot the White People’ ( ‘dubulu lekgoa’ ) in front of an approving crowd shortly before youth leader Malema was going to give a speech about ‘economic freedom’ there: the song was apparently sung and coined by Tokeio Nhlapo, a member of the SRC and also of the ANC youth league. Afterwards, he ‘refused to explain what he meant by the song’, he reportedly told journalist Llewellyn Prince who witnessed the incident. Meanwhile the ANC’s so-called ‘internal hearing’ about Malema’s alleged misconduct in regards to his publicly calling for a revolution in neighbouring Botswana, also is continuing behind closed doors. It will continue on 26 Oct 2011 – just one day before Malema together with the Cosatu co-ruling trade union movement, plans their two-day-long ‘campaign for Economic Freedom’. The two organisations are bussing in as many members as they can from all the provinces, ordering them to descend on Johannesburg for the two-day rally – with plans to move to the Johannesburg stock exchange and then to Pretoria – where these many hundreds of thousands of black men plan to camp out overnight and put the country’s seat of power, the Union Buildings, under siege.

17 October 2011 journalist: Gerhardt Theron – A Pretoria woman – too terrified to be identified – had asked passing metro-cops to help her: and instead they fined her R500 for stopping on the shoulder of the road.
While they wrote the ticket, they reportedly taunted and laughed at her and took her picture. She was driving alone from Pretoria to the International Airport at Kempton Park on the R21 on September 22. Just before the Engen Garage she noticed her petrol was low. She said it also looked as if road works were blocking entry to the garage, so about 250m before the garage entrance she drove up to the metro-police which had crews parked on the shoulder lane, asking their advice about how she should reach the garage. It seemed a reasonable request: “I drove for about 10 metres onto the shoulder lane to reach them.” She then told the metro-police she wanted their guidance and advice – but instead the man she spoke to fined her, laughing loudly. “The other officers stood around. I started taking photographs and when they saw it, the female officers in turn took photos of me and the males danced and laughed. “A male officer also threatened me: pushing his head through my car’s window and said he would take me to court if I were to publish the pictures.”
After speaking to the Kempton Park state prosecutor’s office, the fine was withdrawn. These are some of the pictures she took.
