Afrikaans media ignores many hatecrimes

Especially the Afrikaans Naspers news media failed to record  many of the dozen or more motiveless, vicious hatecrimes which targetted Afrikaners and a foreign aid-worker in SA this past week. The Afrikaans news-media even failed to accurately record last week’s deeply mysterious, vicious assassination of Mrs Rita Vuyk of Veenendaal (NL) - a Dutch volunteer who since 2005 had helped obtain funding for, and ran the Mangwazane Aids-orphanage in Ubombo, KZN near SA pres Jacob Zuma’s home-town.

Beeld did however record the attack, left, on Afrikaner smallholder Mrs Ada Viljoen, 78, who was beaten unconscious in a motiveless attack at her Potchefstroom smallholding on March 12 2012. They emphasized the fact that her black housekeeper Mrs LIesbet Pilane was stabbed in the hand and neck. Both women reportedly are in hospital: The elderly Mrs Viljoen with ‘unconfirmed head-injuries’, the housekeeper ready to be discharged after she fled while her employer was being beaten into unconsciousness. This WAS recorded by Naspers. However -- over the past week, at least ten  other hatecrimes were carried out against Afrikaners including the attacks listed below, all on one day, which targetted smallholders and farmers in motiveless crimes. During at least three of those crimes, vile abusive cursing was used against the Afrikaner victims by their black attackers. None of these incidents were reported. Killed last weekend during this attack-wave were retired Brits farmer Okkie Els and his wife -- who died from their ordeal on their farm De Kroon in Brits on March 10 2012. Mrs Els also reportedly was gangraped before she was killed. None of these latter attacks (some also listed below) were even noted for the record by any of the sonamed ‘mainstream’ Afrikaans or English-language media in SA. Brits used to have a snappy, independent local newspaper, the Madibeng Pulse, which was run by the fearless, excellent Dreyer couple. Since their paper closed down however, the attacks against Afrikaner residents in Brits and surroundings have become badly underreported.

4 Afrikaner farm-couples attacked: 2 deaths

Summary: The Lord’s Resistance Army -style ‘ International Junior Portuguese ’  black youth gang recruits child-soldiers, coercing hundreds of Bloemfontein children with the avowed aim to ‘attack the economy’, police warn. A wave of hatecrimes has also targeted Afrikaners on farms and in the cities this past week. Four Afrikaner-farm couples were attacked by armed black male gangs: and the Els couple of Brits was murdered, the other farmers badly injured, racially abused and brutalised. An  Afrikaner man was stabbed by a black taxi-driver; a black Pretoria cop demanded that an aFrikaner crime-victim must first censor out the words ‘white bitch’ from her formal assault and hate-crime complaint; a white English-speaking shopper was cursed with racist hatespeech and beaten by a black shopping mall security guard… a 70 yo pensioner was brutally assaulted in Middelburg; and a popular Afrikaner comedian whose career was soaring,  was found mysteriously ‘hanged’ in Randburg.

Bloemfontein. Thirty-nine IJP-gang members have already been arrested in Brandfort: but their membership grows daily with township youths joining in their ‘anti-economy’ criminality. Many pupils from local schools are recruited by the gang: “They can be easily intimidated and can only be tried as youth-criminals who get more lenient sentences and treatment,’ said Viljoen.
The IJP also recruits members in prisons. The IJP-members’ tattoos consist of the letters IJP and three dots on the left-chest or left arm. The police also believes that the gang-members are kept in line with ‘satanic’ witchcraft-rituals.
(A similar very violent kidnap-and terrorism-gang called the Ninjas also operates in the Limpopo area, with insurgency attacks from nearby Mozambique. These ideologically-based gangs are very similar in their modus operandii to the very violent Lord’s Army in Uganda/Congo which recruits children at gunpoint and with satanic witchcraft rituals). The huge IJP gangs are centrally organised and have already carried out a large number of violent crimes including breakins, armed robberies, gang-rapes and murders. Viljoen said a recruit is only allowed to join after a murder was committed by the recruit: a 13-year-old girl who joined ‘out of curiosity’ approached the SAPS in fear of her life: she tried to burn away her IJP tattoo and when a member saw her attempt, they ruled she was given 24 hours to ‘restore the tattoo – or she and her family would be killed.’ Viloen was quoted as saying that once you are a member you cannot leave again unless you are dead. The Free State provincial police is trying to roll up the gang.

At Vergeleë, pensioners Hannie and Vic Nel were attacked on their farm, tied up with electric cables and THEN assaulted. One shot was fired: the number of attackers is not known but they were armed with firearms and a large hunting knife.

Fortunately for them, their son-in-law who lived on the same farm, drove past their house and suspected trouble. He and his son-in-law rushed to help the elderly couple. Hatecrime: Vryburg farm attack March 10 2012: unidentified Afrikaner farming-couple assaulted, tied up: survive
An armed black male gang attacked the farm of an Afrikaner couple in Vryburg, tied them up and assaulted them.  The attackers fled with the couple's bakkie but overturned it within 2km and fled on food. It’s not known whether anything of value was ‘robbed’.
A police helicopter and local farming self-defence group have launched search parties.

Hatecrime: Rouvhan Viljoen, 30, stabbed 6 times by taxi-driver March 18 2012 - Afrikaner Rouvhan Viljoen, 30, was stabbed six times by a black taxi-driver last Monday when he tried to help a woman-driver who was being intimidated and threatened by the man. The driver is still at large.

Afrikaner trucker Tjaart Chambers, 50, was attacked on Sunday-night March 10 2012 just after 8h00 in Vryburg by four black males and assaulted, writes his son. He was threatened with a knife and bashed in the face with a beer-bottle. The attackers’ estimated ages ranged from 18 to 25 yo.

Mrs Erns Reynierse, 70, was attacked in her Middelburg home by three black young males at 17h00 and received fierce slaps across her face, tied up and then kicked in her ribs. Her 18-year-old grandson also was badly assaulted. Some money and a firearm were stolen from the old woman. None of the other valuables in the house were touched.

Afrikaans-speaking coloured man Gary Adams, 39, of Edenvale assassinated by three black males wearing balaclavas: nothing robbed, wife Leila also in a serious condition
EDENVALE: Gary Adams (39) was shot dead and his wife Leila injured in an assassination-style assault on the couple in Meadowdale Edenvale. Gauteng SAPS Lt.kol. Katlego Mogale said the couple were gunned down Wednesday-evening around 20h00 when Adams was dropping off his wife at her job. A gang jumped from a silver Renault and shot the couple down, climbed back into the vehicle and fled. Leila Adams is in serious condition at a nearby hospital. The gunmen are at large.

Unnamed Afrikaans couple in Ben Fleur survives armed robbery in Witbank 2 March 2012
Witbank Nuus:  A couple in the Afrikaans area of Ben Fleur extention in Witbank were attacked 2 March 2012 at 21h30 in their home and held hostage at gunpoint. The gang took tv, laptop computer and fled in the couple’s vehicle: it was abandoned and found 50 minutes later in Mamelodi township near Pretoria.

Deep concern over large number of armed house-robberies accompanied by high level of violence, Louis Trichardt

Soutpansberger newspaper March 9 2012: “There is deep concern in the Louis Trichardt community about the dramatic increase in armed house-robberies since Jan 1 2012. These robberies increasingly take place when the residents are at home, and are accompanied by a great deal of senseless violence.
Mrs Perba Tribhovan, 65, badly traumatised after brutal beatings at Eltivillas home in fourth attack:
Last Wednesday Mrs Perba Tribhovan, 65, was attacked in her Eerste Street home in Eltivillas by three armed black males and cruelly assaulted. Her neighbours stated that this was the fourth time she had been targetted by an ‘armed robbery’. Last year Mrs Tribhovan also was robbed by a knifeman and valuable household items and jewellery looted. Wednesday she was ambushed in her kitchen. They grabbed her, plucked her around, beat her repeatedly with a gun over her head and face – and the attackers only fled when security guards in her garden heard her screams. SAPS capt Maano Sadike confirmed that ‘an unknown amount of money’ was robbed from the woman, who is a diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure. She was so traumatised that she required medical treatment at the Zoutpanberg Private Hospital.
Percy Scott, Jaco Strydom, fiancee Landi, 11-month-old baby son survive attack by by three armed black male robbers with AK47s: Soutpansberg, Malva Street
On Saturday-evening, a group of Afrikaner friends were attacked in a home in Malva Street while they were having a braaivleis at the lapa outside. Percy Scott, friend Jaco Strydom of Tzaneen, his fiancee Landi and their 11-month-old baby son were at the house when an armed masked black male jumped across the garden wall, armed with an automatic assault carbine at around 20h00. “The guy looked tense and demanded money, cellphones, watches, said Scott to the Zoutpansberger on Monday.  Shortly thereafter two more black males came across the wall and forced Scott and Strydom into the house at gunpoint. The three friends were forced into a room and they were hogtied.Scott was dragged to another room where he had to hand them ‘the keys to the safe’. (it’s amazing that these attackers always know there ‘s a registered gun safe in the house). The gang was still plundering the house when Scott managed to flee and screamed for help: a neighbouring woman immediately called the Soutpansberg town-watch and volunteers arrived shortly thereafter. The gang fled with their loot, valued at around R50,000. The badly traumatised friends were not physically harmed. “They were a ruthless bunch and we are grateful that our lives were spared,’ said Scott.

Afrikaners: Throwaway Humans

So bizarre has life become for Afrikaners in South Africa that there are no words to adequately describe the daily horrors of their lives to outsiders who have been steeped in the usual cliches about South Africa…

March 10 2012. 'Last night I spoke to a woman who owns an art-gallery in Pretoria. She spoke about a brutal, hour-longbeating at the hands of three black male attackers in her home.  They also threatened to rape her.
They put a gun to her head and she expected them to pull the trigger. Yet as she spoke, it became clear that she was so calmly resigned to her fate that one is left filled with a mixture of horror, amazement and humour. 
‘ Just get it over with and shoot me dead… just stop your threatening to do it…’
When they threatened to take her to her bedroom to rape her there, she  said she 'was thinking that the bed hadn't been made as yet and that she felt shame about it.'  At one stage, she even invited them to 'get it over with and just shoot her dead, and to stop just threatening with it.'
Every time they were ready to shoot her, she said 'she'd ask them if she could first turn off the fire underneath the onions she was cooking because she was afraid they would burn.'  Eventually they did let her turn off the hot-plate.
In the end these men just left there without shooting her or raping her: she was however assaulted very badly. However -- that was not the end of her ordeal: there was more when she went to the police station to report the attack.
The ‘illiterate’ police officer would not let her write the words ‘white bitch’ even though those exact words were used by her attackers to abuse and humiliate her with… 
Upon her arrival she said, 'I was received by a  person who was unable to read nor write, and who was unable to write down my report on the incident.' Then she wrote her own report and of included all the details, including the words which were used by these black men against her during the hour-long ordeal, such as 'You white bitch, we are going to rape you." Or: "You white bitch, we are going to shoot you."  When her report was read by this 'black illiterate policeman , HE objected to HER using the words 'white bitch.'  He said he 'could not accept the statement in that wording and she will have to change her statement'.
     An argument then followed: with her insisting that she HAD to tell it exactly as it happened because this was a racial hate-crime. The black police officer also refused to let her use the word 'white' – while finding the  word 'bitch' acceptable – however not the two words together:  'white bitch'. Eventually the stalemate stuck and she simply had to leave. To this day, no formal charges of assault, armed house-robbery, attempted rape, or attempted murder were thus far lodged.
    Roodt writes that he wanted her to repeat her astonishing story in front of his video camera in exactly that same casual, humorous and resigned manner she had told it the first time.
    "It was the black humour and the casualness in which she told it, which probably would have put the entire world in an uproar..  However, she didn't feel like it -- and so another unique story about which one could write books, has been lost forever.”
So bizarre are these happenings that they cannot be described clearly with words or pictures…
“Actually what is happening to us in South Africa right now cannot be described with words nor with pictures. It is so strange, so fantasti-gorical, so bizarre that outsiders would never understand it properly. Here was this exquisite, cultured and well-spoken woman who has accepted the fact that any life - also her life -- is not worth anything.
    She however has an exquisite trust in her own intelligence – she knows that she's more clever than her attackers. "They expect you to react in a certain way and when you react differently, it confuses them. Then they don't know what to do. We will always beat them in the end,' she concluded.
   Sure --  under the current rigid definition, that would be a 'racist' belief because in a world of unforgiving 'equality rules' the intelligence of the black rapist, the black murderer, the black rapist is 'equal'
to the intelligence of the white art-dealer's. They had merely made different ‘career-choices’. 
   The other interesting aspect of her retelling of the ordeal was that she never referred to the race of her attackers. Until my wife wanted to know: 'I take it they were black?" Whereupon the art-dealer replied in utter amazement:

• “My heart -- what kind of a question is that? Of course they were black. I don't know how you can even begin to ask such a question'…

It seemed as if she was drawing attention to an unwritten natural law. ..
My impression was that she really did not care what happened to her. To this day she has not taken any kind of security arrangements.
She accepts that such things simply happen.
It's as if we (Afrikaners) are living on a different planet: one in which new laws rule: the law of the jungle and that one cannot influence this. Her fatalism was shocking and fascinating to me at the same time.
There 's a small group of Afrikaners which has recognised the grotesque other-worldly aspect of the New South Africa and as time goes on we will learn to describe it better.  Eventually we might even succeed in making the Bizarre South africa understandable to the rest of the world.  It's a very delicate process - because the usual words and average understanding fall far short to describe it with to people steeped in the well-known cliches about South Africa.
What is happening to us Afrikaners is worse than a war…
What is happening to us (Afrikaners) right now is worse than a war because it forces us - as did this woman - to accept that our lives and by extension our language, culture, history, tradition, heritage and everything interconnected with those, are worthless. Literally not worth anything.
    Perhaps that's the new definition of the Afrikaner: a human being without value, a Throwaway Human, a human being who can only be grateful that he's still alive.
    Because hanging over all of us is that sword of Damocles; that gunbarrel against your brow; that knife hovering inches from your chest.
     With all the stories of human slaughter we hear and read about, there also are many other stories of people who barely escaped with their lives.
    A friend of mine's heart literally stood still four times in the ambulance after blacks had stabbed him senselessly in the Pretoria central district. Four times the emergency personnel kickstarted his heart again. Today he's healthy as a horse and cheerfully alive.
     The fact that we still live and still can do ordinary things every day, is a miracle, a wonder.
     That's why it's hardly strange that there's a little flower called 'Afrikaner'- because indeed we are as fragile as flowers: here one moment, and gone the next.
Cut off. Killed off.
