Bloemfontein SA - A Free State farm manager was killed and his brother wounded
Bloemfontein - A Free State farm manager was killed and his brother wounded by attackers near the Lesotho border, Volksblad newspaper reported on Thursday.
Sean Schutte, 36, was shot twice at a short distance when he and his brother, Louis, 33, riding a quad bike, chased two armed men on the farm Alpha, the report said.
The chase followed the arrival of armed men at the farmhouse. The domestic worker called for help.
The Schutte brothers followed the men to the Caledon Rivier where Sean was killed and Louis wounded in the chest.
The wounded brother was shot three times before the men apparently fled into Lesotho.
Louis was flown to Mediclinic in Bloemfontein by air ambulance on Wednesday night. He was in a serious condition, the report said.
